Les gorges de l'Ardèche forment un canyon d'une trentaine de kilomètres. La rivière a formé de nombreux méandres. Au pont d'Arc, l'Ardèche a percé la roche asséchant ainsi un méandre. L'arche ainsi formé, sous lequel la rivière s'écoule encore, est haut de 60 m. / The Ardeche gorge forms a canyon of around 30km long with the river meandering below.  At Pont d’Arc the Ardeche river has pierced through the rock and the arch created, under which the river still flows, is 60m in height.
